Young Boy in Gaza Dedicates His Days to Feeding Stray Animals Despite His Own Struggles

Amid the destruction and uncertainty in Gaza, one young boy has found a powerful reason to keep going: caring for animals that have nowhere else to turn.

Abdullah Rabee has made it his personal mission to provide food and care for hundreds of stray cats and dogs struggling to survive around him.

The war has displaced many families, and animals have been affected as well. Some pets became separated from their owners, while others were left wandering through damaged neighborhoods searching for food and shelter.

Abdullah couldn’t ignore them.

Whenever schooling is available, he begins his day with his studies. But once his lessons are finished, his attention turns to the animals waiting for him.

With food and whatever supplies he can gather, Abdullah travels through different areas to feed as many stray animals as possible.

It is a routine he has continued since the conflict began.

Hundreds of Animals Depend on His Kindness

Helping so many animals is far from easy.

Food and other basic necessities can be difficult to obtain, and Abdullah and his family have challenges of their own. Yet whenever circumstances allow, he returns to caring for the animals.

His father often accompanies him, both helping with the work and looking out for his son’s safety.

For Abdullah, these animals aren’t simply strays.

Many once had families and homes. Now, some have been left to survive among damaged buildings and rubble with very little access to food or care.

Abdullah wants them to know that someone still sees them.

His compassion has extended beyond simply providing meals. Over time, Abdullah and his family have rescued and welcomed 12 cats into their own home, giving them a safe place to live.

Giving A Voice To Animals Who Can’t Ask For Help

Abdullah has also shared his work on social media, hoping his story will draw attention to animals struggling to survive in Gaza.

His message is simple: he wants to be a voice for animals that cannot speak for themselves.

Even when reaching them means searching through areas affected by destruction, Abdullah remains determined to continue.

He doesn’t know exactly what the future will bring, but he knows what he wants to do today — find animals that need him and make sure they have something to eat.

In circumstances where his own family must also think carefully about their safety and basic needs, his willingness to share what he can makes his efforts especially meaningful.

For hundreds of vulnerable animals, the appearance of Abdullah carrying food can mean that, at least for another day, they haven’t been forgotten.

And for Abdullah, caring for them has become more than a daily routine.

It is his way of protecting lives that might otherwise go unnoticed — one animal at a time.
