Both Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2026 on Thursday night. Observers noted they were not seen together during the event.
While both mingled with celebrities like Alysa Liu and Lainey Wilson, Swift and Cyrus were notably never seen posing together, either on the red carpet or inside the venue, prompting curiosity.
There had been rumours that Swift would present an award to Cyrus, but this did not occur during the event.
Online, reactions came quickly:
- “Something feels off between them…”
- “Why are they keeping their distance?”
The two artists have known each other for over 15 years. Back in 2009, they appeared together at an industry event honouring Clive Davis, when Swift was also close with Katy Perry.
Other moments during the event did not suggest tension.
When Cyrus walked on stage to accept her Innovator Award, cameras showed Swift clapping and cheering from the audience.
During her speech, Cyrus reflected on her 20-year journey since Hannah Montana, explaining that the role began in 2006 and marked the start of her career.
She also shared a fun throwback: back in 2008, Swift wrote the song “You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home” for the Hannah Montana movie, which was later released in 2009.
Swift even made a cameo in the 2009 film, performing “Crazier” in one of the scenes, during the early years of her career.
Cyrus joked that the production team had been looking for an artist who could naturally perform in a “barn setting,” and Swift was the perfect fit.
While they did not share a photo together, their on-stage interactions did not indicate any conflict.
Still, fans can’t help but wonder — coincidence… or something more?
