According to reports, Andrew was walking his dogs close to Marsh Farm, located on the Sandringham Estate, when he was allegedly confronted by a man wearing a balaclava and reportedly carrying a crowbar.
Although the royal was not physically harmed, sources claim the encounter left him badly shaken.
Police were called to the area after reports of a man behaving in an intimidating manner in the nearby village of Wolferton on Wednesday evening.
Alex Jenkinson, 39, from Suffolk, was later arrested and has since been charged with multiple offences, including using threatening or abusive behaviour intended to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Authorities also charged him with failing to provide a blood sample while in custody.
Norfolk Police confirmed the suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before magistrates.
The incident has reportedly reignited discussions around Andrew’s security arrangements. His taxpayer-funded protection was removed in 2024 after ongoing controversy surrounding his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He was later stripped of his remaining royal titles and forced to leave his former residence at Royal Lodge.
Sources close to Andrew now argue that, despite no longer being a working royal, his profile and years of public scrutiny may actually place him at greater personal risk.
Supporters reportedly believe the latest confrontation highlights concerns over his safety and could strengthen calls for a formal review of his current security situation.
The case has once again drawn public attention to Andrew’s controversial position within the Royal Family and the ongoing debate surrounding taxpayer-funded protection for non-working royals.
