Dog Abandoned For “Not Being Perfect” Still Believes In Love

A few months ago, a young dog named Hope went through something no animal should ever have to face.

Raised by backyard breeders, she was suddenly discarded on the streets of Los Angeles — all because she didn’t meet their expectations.

Left alone and confused, Hope had no idea why she’d been abandoned.

During her time as a stray, she wasn’t completely alone. She met a husky named Angel, who had also been struggling to survive after losing his family. The two dogs quickly formed a bond, sticking together and protecting one another for nearly two months on the streets.

Eventually, rescuers were able to bring both dogs to safety.

When Stacy Hope Rescue heard about their story, they knew they had to step in. Through locals in the area, they learned the heartbreaking reason behind Hope’s situation — she had been dumped simply because of an eye condition.

A visit to the vet confirmed she was suffering from entropion, a painful issue affecting her eyelids. Thankfully, it was treatable. After surgery, Hope immediately felt relief and began to heal.

Not long after, she was placed in a foster home — and it didn’t take long for her true personality to shine. Gentle, affectionate, and calm, Hope quickly bonded with her foster caregiver, enjoying nothing more than curling up on the couch for cuddles.

But just as she started to feel safe again, she had to face another goodbye. Her foster stay was only temporary, and Hope once again found herself waiting — hoping this time it would be for a forever home.

Despite everything she’s been through, Hope hasn’t lost her spirit. She still loves to play (especially with water!) and would thrive in a home with other friendly dogs. While she can be a little unsure around cats, she has so much love to give to the right family.

Those who have met her say she’s truly special — a dog who has been let down more than once, yet still chooses to trust.

Her eyes, once the reason she was abandoned, now tell a completely different story — one of resilience, kindness, and hope.
