In July 2024, a tan pit bull named Tatiana was brought to Orphans of the Storm after being found wandering alone. From the very first moment, she captured everyone’s hearts.
Despite her unknown past, Tatiana showed nothing but love. She greeted every staff member and volunteer with excitement, showering them with kisses and wagging her tail nonstop. It was clear — whatever she had been through, her spirit remained bright.
She quickly became a favourite at the shelter. Everyone hoped she would soon find a home where she’d be loved just as much as she loved others.
And for a while, she did.
Tatiana was adopted not long after, but about a year later, she was returned. It wasn’t because she wasn’t a good dog — she simply didn’t get along well with smaller dogs. Her previous family had nothing but kind things to say about her, especially how gentle and wonderful she was with children.
Still, seeing her back in the shelter was heartbreaking.
Determined to find her the right match, the staff didn’t give up. They brought Tatiana to adoption events and even took her to visit a local school, where she happily soaked up attention and affection from dozens of students. Everywhere she went, she left a lasting impression.
Then, one day, everything changed.
A loving couple came forward, ready to give Tatiana another chance. After meeting them, it was clear — this was the family she had been waiting for.
On her adoption day, emotions ran high. The staff placed an “adopted” sign on her kennel and gathered to say their goodbyes. While tears filled their eyes, Tatiana was simply excited, wagging her tail and enjoying every last moment with her friends.
And then came the moment they’ll never forget.
She ran straight into the arms of her new family, her face lit up with pure happiness — as if she knew this was her fresh start.
Not long after, the shelter received an update:
“She’s already right at home.”
Now renamed Ti Amo, she’s thriving in her new life and finally has the loving home she deserves.
Even though the shelter continues to help many other dogs, Tatiana is one they’ll always remember — the kind of dog who leaves a mark on your heart forever
