Tragedy At Royal Windsor Horse Show As King’s Trooper Dies After Horse Fall

A member of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery has tragically died following an accident at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Friday evening.

The soldier was reportedly injured after falling from a horse shortly after completing a ceremonial performance at around 7pm. Emergency crews responded immediately and provided medical treatment at the scene, but the rider sadly died from severe injuries a short time later.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the incident is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the accident or captured footage to come forward as investigations continue.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, King Charles III said he was deeply shocked and saddened by the tragedy. The Palace added that the King intends to privately offer condolences to the soldier’s family.

As a mark of respect, the Royal Windsor Horse Show canceled the King’s Troop performance scheduled for Saturday, though the wider four-day event continued.

Senior police officials described the incident as a heartbreaking loss and confirmed support is being provided to the soldier’s loved ones, military colleagues and others affected by the tragedy.

The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery is internationally recognized for its ceremonial duties during major royal and national occasions, including royal salutes and high-profile public events across Britain.

Authorities have not yet publicly released the identity of the soldier.
